Smart Phone Users 228-220-7111 Before and After Pictures Diamond Disc Selection Guides Rough Discolored Pool Surfaces Most swimming pool plaster roughness & discoloration is caused from 2 common practices with pools that are not maintained properly. 1.) A build up on the surface caused by incorrect water chemistries such as a high pH and/or calcium hardness in the water 2.) Over exposed aggregate surface due to excessive use of muriatic acid trying to repair plaster surface problem. These plaster surfaces will have a course sand paper feel and surface discoloration in sunlight. This will cause skin abrasions or irritation and bathing suit damage among other inconvenience. This can literally make the swimming pool unusable over time. Increasing roughness and discoloration will lead you to re-plastering your pool. Polishing your pool or spa plaster is crucial for efficiency, performance and most of all cost effective. Whether you have a color quartz finish (Multi-colored plaster) or standard plaster (white in color), having a smooth plaster finish eliminates calcium nodules, spot etching, skin abrasions, bathing suit damage, and consistent color surface that makes entertaining in and around your pool area a pleasure. How to Aquaglide your pool Step 1 Use WD7030 course blue disc for cleaning surface. During this step you’re going to remove all surface scaling and areas where the aggregate is over exposed. Process about 4 square feet before stopping machine and feeling the surface you just processed. If you can feel areas that are smoother than others, make another pass with machine to clean area surface that can be seen with eye. It’s important for surface to have a uniform soft texture feel throughout. Step 2 Use WD7120 smooth yellow disc for polishing plaster surface.
